Bodach Aislig is a blend crafted from fine old single malt and single grain whiskies - Glenrothes, Glengoyne, Bunnahabhain, Tamdhu, Port Dundas, Cameronbridge and North British. Having been married together, these vintage spirits were further matured at our Coleburn Distillery dunnage warehouses.
Bodach Aislig is a rare blend of malt and grain whiskies from active and closed distilleries from across all five whisky producing regions of Scotland. Containing a high percentage of malt, this blend is 40% malt with 60% grain. This is a classic maturation, with each spirit aged separately in bourbon barrels, before blending these already very old whiskies. The Whisky Creations Team then used a single Sherry butt to further mature the rich blend of malts and grain whiskies. After nearly a decade in the Sherry butt, the individual spirits have integrated in harmony and developed a luscious fruity character. Bodach Aislig showcases the Whisky Creations Team's skill not only in the art of maturation, but also the art of blending.

At Murray McDavid, we understand the importance of maturation in the making of whisky. Using our many years of experience and the best oak casks from around the world, we create diverse styles of inspired Scotch whisky.
Our Whisky Creations Team travel the world in search of good wood. We select sherry casks from the bodegas of Spain, fortified wine casks from Madeira, port pipes from Portugal and a wide selection of wine barriques from Europe’s finest vineyards. We also seek out American oak barrels from bourbon makers in the United States and rum casks from distilleries in the Caribbean. We have exclusive wood supply agreements with our cask suppliers, such as the Koval Distillery in Chicago and the Murça wine cooperative in Portugal.
It’s our emphasis on getting the best casks and practising the Art of Maturation that makes Murray McDavid’s whiskies truly special.
